William Jenack Auctioneers will be starting out the New Year with an eclectic sale featuring fine art, Chinese & Japanese ceramics, fine jewelry, silver, mid-century furnishings and accessories, Natural History, bronzes, posters, taxidermy and Oriental carpets.
Fine art offerings to include a graphite and watercolor on paper, male nude in landscape by Dame Elisabelth Frink (UK 1930-1993); oil on canvas laid on panel, abstract by Karel Christiaan Appel (NY/French/Swiss 1921-2006); serigraph, “Flotsam” by Adolph Gottlieb (New York 1903-1974); lithograph, “Ouvrage Du Vent III” by Joan Miro (Spain/France 1893-1993); oil on canvas, winter landscape-Caucasus by Georgy Zakharovich Bashinzhagyan (Armenia/Russian Federation 1857-1925); oil on canvas, The Pantheon by Edouard Cortes (French 1882-1969); marker on paper, “The Red Man Between Two Men” by Keith Haring (American 1958-1990) and oil on canvas, “Constantine” by Louis Kronberg (American 1872-1965).
Furnishings include Federal Style parcel gilt Recamier, Leon Rosen, Pace Collection polished chrome and leather desk, leather tufted sofa attributed to Leon Rosen, Pace Collection, French New Classical marble top stand with parcel gilt branch form base by Maitland-Smith, Japanese brass mounted tansu, Continental carved pine server, pair H. Studio Lucite and chrome “Gum Drop” bar stools, pair craftsman made brazed steel and copper spider web chairs, rare bench made walnut desk by Richard Artschwager, pair Indian brass inlaid Savranola armchairs, Chinese hardwood low table and Designer Modern lacquer, marble and plate glass dining table.
In the Natural History arena include an African Lion taxidermy head mount, Kodiak and Black Bear skulls, Octopus and Brain coral sculptures, Greater Kudu shoulder taxidermy mount, Zebra skin rug, mineral and gem stones, Gemsbok shoulder taxidermy mount, Black Bear skin rugs and Impala shoulder taxidermy mount.
Jewelry and silver offerings include contemporary 750 yellow gold, Lucite and blue cabochon topaz ring, Henri Bendel Muse Ball necklace, Alex Bettar Gold tone pyrite doublets elements crouching fox cuff bracelet, vintage 14K synthetic ruby ring, 18K synthetic blue sapphire ring with diamonds, 14K green sapphire ring, 19th century Etruscan style yellow gold and lapis lazuli brooch, Art Nouveau porcelain and 14K brooch/pendant, 18K white gold and diamond flex cuff bracelet, 14K white gold and diamond dinner ring, Modernist Rebajes sterling and wood Musanga branch pin, ca. 1795 London sterling straining spoon, Reed and Barton sterling pitcher, pair ca. 1808 London sterling berry spoons, Gorham “Chippendale” sterling tray, ca. 1761 London sterling stuffing spoon and a Wallace “Grand Baroque” sterling flatware service for 12.
