PRESS RELEASE FOR APRIL 1, 2019 SALE
 
William Jenack’s auction of April 1, 2019 will feature a large collection of Wedgwood cobalt and light blue wares, fine art offerings, large Lladro limited edition groupings, African works of art, 19-20th century furnishings including Chinese, Oriental rugs and carpets, sterling silver including vintage Georg Jensen.
As with most of Jenack’s sales fine art leads the way. Highlights include oil on paper laid on canvas, portrait of a young man by Jean Jacques Francois Le Barbier (French 1738-1826); oil on canvas, summer landscape by Michel Kikoine (French/Latvia 1892-1968); oil on artist board, Maria Magdalena after Carlo Dolci (Italian 1616-1680); oil on canvas, still life with oil lamp, book and linen by Nicholas Alden Brooks (American 1840-1904); oil on canvas, “Sun Dust” by Harold Lloyd Lyon (American 1930-); oil on canvas, French interior with harpsichord by Henry Mosler (American/French 1841-1920); watercolor and ink, camel by Reuven Rubin (Romanian/Israeli 1893-1974); watercolor, abstract composition by Ilia Chashnik (Russian 1902-1929); watercolor, “In the Park” by Glenn MacNutt (American A.N.A. 1905-1987). On a humorous note there is carved and painted wood coyote dressed in a cow hide Zoot Suit standing next to a cactus, titled “Gaucho” by Markus Pierson (American 1961-).
Silver lots include a fabulous hand hammered tea service by Redlich & Co. The set features finials and handles of a calla lily form with foliage. The set includes a hot water pot with warmer, coffee pot, tea pot, creamer, sugar and matching tray coming in at nearly 20 pounds in total weight! Georg Jensen flatware service for 12 in the “Continental” aka “Antik” pattern, containing over 120 pieces; Tiffany & Co. sterling “Faneuil” ice tongs with Moore mark; set of 3 George Jensen sterling “Ornamental #83” serving pieces; George Jensen sterling “Cactus” and “Acorn” salad fork and spoon; George Jensen “No. 141” ladle; Gorham sterling cigarette box; Tiffany & Co. sterling footed dish.
Furniture offerings include a French Louis XVI style dressing table, American Federal tilt top stand, pine Welsh dresser, French Provincial armoire 18th century, Regency fruitwood single drawer server 19th century, Chinese Mt. Ash altar table, Hudson Valley pine blanket box with drawers on bracket feet 18/19th century, Country carved fruitwood corner chair 18th century, carved and inlaid fruitwood candle stand 19th century, pair of Hepplewhite carved mahogany armchairs early 19th century, Shaker Mt. Lebanon #3 side chair, French Provincial carved fruitwood 5 drawer marble top chest, Hepplewhite maple single leaf folding table 19th century, Country French fruitwood bureau plat 18/19th century and Regency style inlaid mahogany nesting tables with inlaid game boards.
Other notable lots include a very large Lladro porcelain group titled “Sedan Chair Group #5097”, Continental School bronze Madonna of Sorrows signed Ruffony, Wedgwood decorated porcelain “Ulander” dinner service, Vannes French Crystal horse head, Vandor decorated pottery “Honey Mooners” bus cookie jar, sterling silver repousse panel “The Battle of Yellow Tavern/Death of Jeb Stuart May 11, 1864” by Henryk Winograd (Polish/American 1917-2008).
