William Jenack’s auction of June 25, 2017 will be a redux of their very successful auction of October 2016 which featured military, firearms, taxidermy, oddities and natural history items.
The sale will feature a single consignor collection of over 80 various taxidermy mounts including full body. Outstanding examples include an albino wallaby, tamandua anteater, Cape buffalo, greater kudu, Marco Polo Argali sheep, and one can get their “Hakuna Matata” on with the next two, a spotted hyena and warthog, musk ox, full body kudo mount, baboon, French poodle, wildebeest and a Victorian diorama of a pair of squirrels playing a game of cards and a white python skin with head (over 10’ long).
Firearms to include a Winchester model 1894 .30 caliber lever action sporting rifle, Winchester model 57 .22 caliber rifle, Springfield Amory model 1816/1827 percussion conversion 69 caliber rifle, Springfield Amory model 1873 45-70 caliber trapdoor rifle, Mauser Chilean model 1895 7X57MM bolt action rifle, Springfield Amory model 1888 .45-70 caliber trapdoor rifle, Garand (Winchester) M1 .30 caliber semi-automatic rifle, Mauser Turkish model 98 7.92MM bolt auction rifle, Mauser Brazilian model 1908 7X51MM bolt action rifle, Japanese Arisaka type 99 (Kokura) 7.7MM bolt auction rifle, Mauser Carl Gustafs/Swedish model 96 6.5MM bolt action rifle, Winchester model 1894 .32 WS saddle ring carbine, Colt model 6551 .223 caliber semi-automatic target rifle, Smith & Wesson model 19-3 .357 Mag revolver with Davis custom heavy barrel, Colt new service .45 caliber revolver, Colt Detective Special .38 SP caliber revolver and Colt Official Police .38 caliber revolver.
Oddities and Natural History lots will include vintage medical school human skeleton, vintage Hanau aluminum articulated orthodontic facial model, grotesque human skull mounted with naturally mummified rats, large antique glass specimen jar with adult octopus, vintage aluminum glove form with articulated thumb, cased moth and butterfly collection, antique anatomical wax human facial model, vintage Columbia Dento form Phantom dental mannequin, vintage anatomical Mache fish model, early 20th century child’s wooden coffin, Ritter Imperial Columbia dental chair and a German didactic anatomical model of a human head. Natural history items in the offering include several lots of florescent mineral specimens in box lots, large amethyst geode (over 85 pounds), box lots of cut and polished geode halves, cased collection of seashells, fossilized fish, Megalodon teeth, large section of the petrified tree trunk, large ammonite specimen.
The sale will also include a collection of vintage American political buttons, German WWII army dagger, U.S. military aircraft Plexiglas cockpit bezel, German WW II army helmet, U.S. WW II field telephone, vintage Bausch & Lomb Optical Co. monocular microscope, analytical balance scales, German WW II workers manual for Stefan Weber, Russian sextant, German WW II photograph album, collection of WW II artillery shells and much more.
